GPS Don’t Phone Home

A press release from vehicle tracking company LoJack Corporation about a stolen Lexus they’d recovered for the owner had a useful reminder about programming your GPS system. Don’t enter your address under the “Home” button, especially if you have an attached garage. Why? Thieves can use that information to take your stolen car back home (after all, they know you’re not there), access the garage, and then break into your house.

  1. Of course, if you keep your registration in your glove compartment (guilty), you're still helping out car thieves.
