Simon Cowell’s Bugatti Veyron Up for Auction

I promise I’ll get back to the Studebaker, but in the meantime this crossed my desk. Seems Barrett Jackson will be selling off Simon Cowell’s 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 at their Scottsdale auction which runs from January 12 (tomorrow) to the 19th. The Bugatti is lot no. 1319.2 but I can’t find anything online to indicate which day it will actually be auctioned off. My guess would be one of the three weekend days, probably the last one.

Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions(TM),
announced today a last minute auction of Simon Cowell's pristine
2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4, which will take place in Scottsdale,
Jan. 12-19.

The headline on the press release I received notes that it’s a “rare” Bugatti. Er, aren’t they all? But to quote from the release:

“The vehicle includes a full one-year, extended factory warranty offered directly through Bugatti. Four brand new tires and a complete service make Mr. Cowell's Veyron the perfect certified, pre-owned vehicle. The Veyron has 1300 miles, all of which were personally driven by Simon Cowell. The custom black paint with black interior is one of only a handful of black on black Veyrons in America. With over 1000 horsepower at 6000 RPM, the 8.0 L W16-Cylinder, ALL wheel drive, 7-speed automated dual clutch transmission made this car in 2008 the fastest street legal car in America with a top speed of 253.81 mph.”

Offered by Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction, Jan. 12-19,
Simon Cowell's Veyron is the first certified, pre-owned vehicle
in the new program, which includes a full one-year, extended
factory warranty offered directly through Bugatti.

Needless to say, there is a reserve price on it. More details on the car can be found here. For those of us who can’t get to the auction (yup, that includes me), there will be coverage on some of Fox’s channels, plus the National Geographic channel, from the 14th on. You can also access live streaming online by registering with Barrett-Jackson.
