Although it’s still summer, it’s been cold and wet here the last few days. So a press release for a car show in California perked me right up. Not that I’m going, but it’s pleasanter to contemplate than the puddles outside my door.
Next weekend (August 22 to 24) is the 28th Annual Goodguys West Coast Nationals, being held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. They’re expecting around 4,000 hot rods, custom and classic cars. There will also be manufacturer’s exhibits, a swap meet, live music, and even activities for kids. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to introduce family members to the rodding culture. Saturday evening they’ll be announcing America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod.
You can find more details about the West Coast Nationals and several other events on the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association website.
Guess I’m not the only one thinking California looks pretty good right now. Apparently Martin Lundqvist from Sweden shipped his hot rod to Georgia and is driving across the States to go to the event. Now that’s an enthusiast!
