1971 Porsche 911 from Le Mans Movie Starring Steve McQueen up for Auction

Thanks to my husband for passing on the Christie’s link (see source below to check it for yourself) to me. Seems they’ll be offering up a 1971 Porsche 911 T coupe driven by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film Le Mans at their November 4 sale in Paris. Along with several other Porsches, it had been purchased by McQueen’s production company from Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert for use in the film. It was later given to leading lady Elga Andersen. It’s had two owners since.

As the title suggests, the movie is about racing at Le Mans. It starred McQueen as an American race car driver, and was filmed entirely on location.

Oddly enough, I can’t find it on the Internet Movie Cars Database, but they have a 1970 Porsche 911 S which looks like the same car HERE. They also have pictures of a lot of other cars in the movie.

Christie’s estimates the car will sell for between €250,000-350,000. They describe it as “in exquisite condition, with original body paint and minimal repairs at the front and front sides.” And a mere 46,350 km on the odometer.
