Bob’s Antique & Classic Cars, Part 2

Right next to the Reliant Robin was this 1947 Crosley. I’ve never seen one before. According to the sign in its window, it was made by Crosley Mfg. Co. in Cincinnati. Apparently the company manufactured over 35,000 cars between 1939 and 1952, along with appliances like fridges and TVs. They were sold through dealerships, and also through Macy’s (yes, the department store). The sign also described the car as a four cylinder, three speed which got 25-30 mpg. And that the car is NOT for sale. I suspect they get asked a lot.

The Crosley company is still around, though obviously they no longer make cars. They actually have quite an interesting history, with a number of firsts (including the first portable television), which you can read about on their website. They do sell turntables and jukeboxes (alas, CD only), if you’re looking for an entertainment system for your garage.
